The Laguna de Fuente de Piedra Nature Reserve, the largest in Andalusia with its 1,400 hectares, is a unique enclave within the wetlands of the Western Mediterranean. 


It is home to the largest colony of flamingos in the Iberian Peninsula and the second largest in Europe after the one in Camargue, France. 


It belongs to the group of lagoons in the Antequera area, which includes other nature reserves totalling 3,000 hectares of wetlands.
